About The Position

As a Crisis Technician at The Arc of the Ozarks, you will provide essential support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with psychiatric or behavioral diagnoses and autism spectrum disorders. Your role will involve crisis intervention, behavioral observation, and assistance with daily living activities, all aimed at fostering a therapeutic environment and promoting the well-being of those in your care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least three months of experience providing direct assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Proficiency in applied behavior analysis and working with individuals with autism and related disabilities.
  • Ability to administer medications in accordance with agency policies after certification by the Missouri Department of Mental Health.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior management experience recommended.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and behavioral assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centered services in accordance with DMH-DD, the Arc, and CARF standards.
  • Assist Program Supervisor and Crisis Technician Supervisor in maintaining annual paperwork on individuals per Arc and DMH guidelines.
  • Participate as an active member of the support team by attending meetings and providing input for the Individual Support Plan.
  • Ensure individuals' food and household supply needs are met by grocery shopping and implementing menu plans.
  • Monitor home issues and report concerns to the Crisis Technician Supervisor and Program Supervisor.
  • Implement outcomes and strategies of individual personal plans under supervision.
  • Attend review meetings when assigned and monitor the cleanliness of the home.
  • Assist individuals with personal spending, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Schedule routine medication and medical appointments, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
  • Complete monthly vital statistics and behavior trackers for individuals in care.
