Provides a short-term clinical crisis intervention service that is a mobile and/or on-site, face-to-face therapeutic response to a youth experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Works as part of an interdisciplinary team to identify, assess, stabilize and treat the youth and their family with the goal of reducing imminent risk and increasing coping skills and functioning. Works to link the youth and their family to the lowest level of care, preferably resources in their home community. Assists the youth and family in engaging and actively participate in the crisis intervention. Employs in-depth knowledge of community resources and services to guide clients and acts as a bridge between families, agencies, and community resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work.
  • Must be able to pass a CORI background check.
  • Current valid US-issued driver's license and driving is a requirement.
  • One year of psychology, counseling, social work, or related experience.
  • Must be able to move about the space periodically during the shift.
  • Must be able to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medicals codes or alarms).
  • Must be able to stoop, crouch, kneel or crawl for various reasons.
  • Must be able to work weekends and evening hours.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support and guidance to youth and families experiencing crisis.
  • Assists in the development of risk management/safety plan.
  • Refers youth and families to support services.
  • Acts as a bridge between families, agencies and community supports.
  • Assures families full involvement in crisis intervention services including team’s adherence to “family voice and choice”.
  • Actively participates in the multi-disciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
  • Participates in YMCIS evaluation and development of protocols policies and procedures.
  • Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
  • Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
  • Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients, and visitors.
  • Maintains, regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
