About The Position

The Denver Sheriff Department is seeking qualified applicants to join the Crisis Response Team as a Licensed Clinician. Successful candidates will be joining an experienced and dedicated team that goes above and beyond every day to provide a wide range of services to those within the Denver Sheriff’s Department care and custody. These services include providing crisis intervention to individuals with serious mental illness, conducting evidence-based groups with high-risk individuals in order to prevent future crises, assisting the deputies in the day-to-day operations of the special management units, assigning appropriate mental health alerts, managing the restrictive housing population, providing mental health training to sworn staff, and other assigned job duties. The Crisis Response Team is seeking individuals familiar with trauma informed care, evidence-based practices, and being part of a multidisciplinary team. This position will work directly with individuals with serious mental illness in a crisis situation within a jail setting. Candidates can expect to work a 4-day week/10-hour day schedule at the Van Cise-Simonet Detention Center located in Downtown Denver at 490 Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80204 and/or the Denver County Jail at 10500 E. Smith Road, Denver, CO 80239. The Crisis Response Team is a 24-hour, seven days a week operation, therefore, applicants must also be willing to work the following: 10-hour shift work day, swing or graveyard weekends holidays overtime on short notice.
