The Youth Crisis Outreach Team (YCOT) Mental Health Clinician works closely with other YCOT members and clinical teams to provide immediate and intensive response to persons in crisis and to youth and their families needing urgent care that are at high risk of becoming emergent and potentially needing inpatient care. The YCOT goal is to provide screening and assessment for youth and their families in need and to provide intensive interventions aimed at de-escalating the crisis and, whenever possible, providing education, and diverting hospitalization. This position will also provide education and outreach to community partners including law enforcement, schools, psychiatric hospitals, emergency detention, and departments. This position will also work closely with DFPS. This position will report to the YCOT Clinical Coordinator and the Crisis Services Director. Proficient and timely documentation skills are required. Self-discipline, flexibility, and time-organization skills are a must. This position will regularly require travel, generally within a limited area of Burke's service region and will require dependable transportation. Will cover 11 counties and will be housed in Lufkin or Nacogdoches.
