About The Position

Crisis Intervention Specialist MSW at Providence Portland Medical Center- Emergency Department. On-Call, Variable Schedule The Crisis Intervention Specialist practices in an evaluation/treatment setting to evaluate and treat psychiatric and substance use disorders using a patient-centered and trauma-informed approach. Works both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Works with patient/support systems to evaluate and diagnose utilizing Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders; assess patient risk to self and/or others, complete and implement risk reduction/mitigation plans to ensure patient and community safety; complete crisis psychosocial assessment and develop care plan for patient including outpatient resources, follow up appointments and inpatient admission if needed. Must be able to work effectively and flexibly in a high paced, demanding, and unpredictable environment. Requirements

  • Master's Degree Social Worker
  • Within 60 days of hire: Oregon Clinical Social Work Associate License

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years Clinical work experience within healthcare, hospice and/or bereavement
