Keystone Health Crisis Intervention Program provides mental health and drug and alcohol services throughout the Franklin and Fulton County areas. These services are provided by Hotline and/or face-to-face contact in the Crisis office or the local hospital emergency departments. Primary function is to provide telephone, crisis intervention services to individuals/families/third party contacts in crisis, to include mental health and drug/alcohol abusing individuals, primarily in the Franklin/Fulton County area. Additionally, the Crisis Intervention Specialist provides an assessment, information and referrals, crisis counseling, assistance with crisis resolution, and accessing of community resources for the individuals who contact the Crisis phone hotline/988. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in with major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, anthropology, political science, history, criminal justice, theology, nursing, education or a related field OR Be a registered nurse OR Have a high school diploma or equivalency and 12 semester credit hours in sociology, social work, psychology, social work, gerontology, anthropology, political science, history, criminal justice, theology, nursing, counseling, education or related field OR Have a high school diploma or equivalency and 3 years of mental health direct care experience in public or private human services with employment as a mental health staff person prior to 1/1/92. OR be a consumer or a family member who has 1 year of experience as an advocate or leader in a consumer or family group and has a high school diploma or GED. OR Staff persons employed by a provider who have 5 years’ experience as a supervisor of mental health services in a mental health agency prior to 1/1/92 will be exempt from this section.
  • Current CPR Certification. Crisis Workers assigned solely to the Catherine Street location are exempt from this requirement. Employees who do not maintain a current CPR certification are not authorized to fill in, float, or perform any job duties at Chambersburg Hospital.
