About The Position

As a Crisis Intervention Specialist at Carrier Clinic, you will play a vital role in providing immediate support and intervention for individuals experiencing mental health crises. This position requires a compassionate and knowledgeable approach to crisis management, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care in a safe environment. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and will be responsible for identifying potential crisis situations and intervening effectively using de-escalation techniques and other crisis management strategies as outlined in the Behavior Management Policy. Your ability to assess the environment and respond to emergencies, including First Aid and Code Blue situations, will be crucial in maintaining a safe atmosphere for both patients and staff. In addition to crisis intervention, you will assist with various duties on the unit, including supporting the unit secretary and mental health technician roles. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the orientation of new staff members, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them acclimate to the environment. Teaching Handle With Care and de-escalation techniques to staff under the supervision of the CIS Coordinator will be part of your responsibilities, contributing to the overall training and development of the team.
