Requirements

  • Must have current valid license as a Registered Nurse, MFT, or LCSW issued by the State.
  • LPS certification preferred or needs to obtain this prior to commencement of employment.
  • Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Minimum two (3) years experience in an Inpatient Psychiatric unit
  • Assaultive Behavior Management training within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually.
  • DMH certification required for 5150 detention.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patients in the emergency room and throughout the house when requested and ensures placement according to their age, identified problems and needs.
  • Acts within the guidelines of LPS Statutes and Patients’ Rights.
  • Provides crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when needed.
  • Works within the multidisciplinary team and communicates effectively with physicians, nurses and staff.
