The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board is seeking a dedicated full-time Crisis Counselor to join our team in the Crisis Receiving Center located in the BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center. In this vital role, you will provide crisis stabilization and support to individuals living with a mental health diagnosis, substance use disorder, or who may be experiencing a mental health crisis. Working onsite in a collaborative and professional environment, you will have the opportunity to positively impact lives while building valuable experience in the behavioral health field. As a Crisis Counselor, you will conduct needs assessments, provide supportive counseling, teach independent living skills, and deliver crisis intervention services to help individuals stabilize and transition successfully into the community. You will monitor and document client progress, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory standards, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively under pressure, and a commitment to providing compassionate care in a team-oriented setting.
