About The Position

The Crisis Counselor Team Lead is responsible for providing quality crisis assessment and intervention to individuals presenting to the Behavioral Health Crisis Center in a timely and responsible manner. Crisis Counselor Team Lead is responsible for clinically guiding the day-to-day operations of the UBHCC.

Requirements

Master’s degree in counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
Must meet the Department of Mental Health’s Criteria for Qualified Mental Health Professional.
Must meet the Department of Mental Health’s criteria for Tier Two of Crisis team members.
Must have two years of experience in mental health and/ substance use service delivery.

Responsibilities

Conduct Crisis Assessments to determine the appropriate level of care.
Provide Crisis Interventions.
Maintains working knowledge of all civil involuntary detention procedures.
Discharge/transition/aftercare plans completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Provide lethal means counseling and complete safety plan with clients.
Maintain client records, following agency and state regulations.
Interface with other community partners such as law enforcement, emergency medical personnel, etc.
Communicate issues and concerns, provide feedback and recommendations to direct supervisor on a regular basis.
Facilitate the day-to-day program/ clinical operations.
Identify and address any front-line treatment/service issues as they arise.
Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
