About The Position

The Crisis Counselor Team Lead is responsible for providing quality crisis assessment and intervention to individuals presenting to the Behavioral Health Crisis Center in a timely and responsible manner. Crisis Counselor Team Lead is responsible for clinically guiding the day-to-day operations of the UBHCC.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • Must meet the Department of Mental Health’s Criteria for Qualified Mental Health Professional.
  • Must meet the Department of Mental Health’s criteria for Tier Two of Crisis team members.
  • Must have two years of experience in mental health and/ substance use service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Crisis Assessments to determine the appropriate level of care.
  • Provide Crisis Interventions.
  • Maintains working knowledge of all civil involuntary detention procedures.
  • Discharge/transition/aftercare plans completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Provide lethal means counseling and complete safety plan with clients.
  • Maintain client records, following agency and state regulations.
  • Interface with other community partners such as law enforcement, emergency medical personnel, etc.
  • Communicate issues and concerns, provide feedback and recommendations to direct supervisor on a regular basis.
  • Facilitate the day-to-day program/ clinical operations.
  • Identify and address any front-line treatment/service issues as they arise.
  • Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
  • Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
  • Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
  • Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
  • Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
