About The Position

Requirements

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a closely related field is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a closely related human service field is required.
• Experience in conducting mental health assessments and crisis interventions.
• Knowledge of safety planning and client services.
• Ability to work collaboratively with medical staff and other professionals.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Familiarity with MS Teams/Telehealth for client assessments.
• Continuous improvement mindset in service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health crisis assessments and interventions for patients in the emergency department.
• Assess patients' level of suicide/harm risk and gather collateral information for care decisions.
• Consult and coordinate with medical staff to address patient needs and create disposition plans.
• Facilitate admissions to inpatient units when clinically appropriate.
• Complete insurance pre-certification and legal paperwork for admitted clients.
• Assist in coordinating outpatient care for patients not requiring inpatient services.
• Engage patients in developing safety plans to manage future crises.
• Document clinical assessments in the electronic health record.
