UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is looking for a passionate Crisis Clinician I to join our Mobile Expansion Team at resolve Crisis Services! The Mobile Expansion program provides outreach services and crisis intervention in the downtown, southside, and northside areas. This position will primarily be completing in-person follow-up meetings with consumers, Tuesday through Saturday, approximately 10am-6:30pm. Designed to strengthen the County’s public behavioral health system, this program offers incredible benefits, including up to $45,000 in educational loan repayment (based on your degree level), or free access to an accredited professional certificate program, as well as paid time off for training and professional development as a part of a cohort group.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work with one (1) year mental health direct care experience.
  • OR
  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work and no experience.
  • Other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience. (Preferred other fields of study include: Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Sociology, Anthropology, Criminal Justice, Theology, Nursing, Counseling/Guidance, Education)
  • ATTENTION: A COPY OF YOUR BACHELOR’S OR MASTER'S TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION.
  • Includes phone triaging, as well as an in-depth knowledge and proven skill at doing psychiatric assessments.
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and to assume on call responsibilities.
  • CCM training is required within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mental health crisis intervention, case management, or in-home therapy preferred.
  • Excellent, recovery-oriented interpersonal relations.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a caseload for the shift
  • Obtaining clinical information in the medical record
  • Provide supportive counseling to consumers to promote stability.
  • Work efficiently and independently in crisis setting
  • Support consumer and negotiates appropriate referral services.
  • Collaborates with the Clin II such case consultations
  • Meets documentation and completes all required paperwork.
  • Completes face to face crisis assessments
  • Manages crisis situations effectively
  • Complete case reviews
