About The Position

Are you looking for an opportunity to work part-time doing meaningful work? This is your opportunity to provide crisis intervention evaluations in a 24/7 community crisis center. The Crisis Clinician works with a team to meet and assess needs as people come in the door. The work is varied, there is 24/7 supervision, support and training provided. You will also have the opportunity to partner with and work in our local emergency rooms, juvenile detention and respond to requests for community-based crisis assessments on mental health crisis cases. This position is 50%, working Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. This is a benefited position, and we are able to offer licensure supervision.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy or a behavioral science field, or possession of a bachelor's degree in Nursing and licensed by the State of Oregon, or possession of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and licensed by the State of Oregon.
  • Crisis Clinician 2 must have at least one year of full-time, post-Master's degree experience in the behavioral health field.

  • LCSW, CSWA or eligible for LCSW.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessments and treatment of individuals and families, including groups.
  • Provide crisis assessment and intervention services.
  • Plan and carry out recreational, social and skills training activities.
  • Perform case management and counseling functions with Adults in Custody (AIC).
  • Facilitate counseling and/or skills training groups.
  • Provide counseling by telephone or in-person to individuals and/or their families.
  • Perform independent assessment of mental status, diagnosis, level of functioning, dangerousness, and specific needs for service.
  • Develop plan with client/family to address immediate needs and plans to obtain services.
  • Maintain current knowledge of, and contact with, community agencies to make referrals appropriately.
  • Provide advocacy for client rights, ethical consideration, needs for service and least restrictive care-intervention.
  • Attend monthly BHCC team meeting.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by your supervisor.
