The Crisis Center Team Leader provides strategic leadership, coaching, and oversight to ensure their team delivers exceptional client care and meets organizational goals. This role plays a vital part in driving team performance, maintaining compliance, fostering professional growth, and supporting a positive client experience for individuals in crisis. The Team Leader mentors, develops, and trains staff while cultivating partnerships that strengthen program outcomes. Requirements

  • Expertise in diagnostic criteria related to mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  • Thorough understanding of caseload management, rehabilitation principles, and treatment modalities.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements and court procedures relevant to mental health/substance use treatment.
  • Strong supervisory and training skills in a behavioral health setting.
  • Ability to evaluate, coordinate, and improve program services.
  • Proficient in interpreting safety rules, technical instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise reports.
  • Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively via phone, telehealth, or in person.
  • Ability to follow direction, accept supervision, and work collaboratively.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
  • Active licensure in respective professional field (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent).
  • Must be willing to obtain licensure in additional states as needed.
  • Comfortable providing telehealth services (training provided).
  • Successful completion of background check (criminal, driving, abuse/neglect, fingerprint).
  • Completion of New Hire Orientation and required agency trainings (including Relias).
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and active auto insurance.
  • First Aid certification within 3 months; CPR certification within 3 months.
  • Completion of Behavioral Management training within 30 days: CPI for Residential Peaceful Intervention or Verbal De-escalation for Outpatient Understanding of Collaborative Service Goals (CSGs) within 30 days.
  • Completion of 36 training hours within 2 years per regulation. ASAM Programs: 50 hours of training annually.
  • CPRC Programs: Completion of Growth & Development and Privileging/Credentialing forms within 30 days.
  • Compliance with all program-specific policies, procedures, and regulatory expectations.
  • Submission of applicable licensure and certifications.
  • School-based programs: Must provide services onsite during school hours.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure staff understand and perform according to position expectations.
  • Evaluate, monitor, and develop staff skills to ensure high-quality client care.
  • Provide coaching, training, and ongoing mentorship to team members.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical standards, contracts, and quality measures.
  • Foster and maintain strong internal and external partnerships that benefit clients and the organization.
  • Lead by example in professionalism, teamwork, and client-centered practice.
  • Oversee service delivery to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and alignment with treatment plans.
  • Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance; correct chart deficiencies promptly.
  • Assist clients with transition processes, including written correspondence and plans.
  • Handle crises as they arise, coordinating emergency services to ensure rapid, appropriate response.
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions, including trauma-informed and co-occurring treatment.
  • Provide clinical consultation to staff as needed.
  • Train staff on evidence-based practices and clinical protocols.
  • Represent the organization professionally within the community.
  • Maintain positive and ethical relationships with clients, referral sources, and coworkers.
  • Ensure services are authorized, billed appropriately, and communicated across departments in a timely manner.
  • Complete all mandatory training in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Support organizational goals and long-term objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
