  • Oversee, strategize, manage, and synchronize statewide training and certification initiatives mandated by legislation for the Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff Education and Training Board, the Constables' Education and Training Board, and the County Adult Probation and Parole Advisory Committee.
  • Operate under the guidance of the Director of the Office of Justice Programs, addressing both programmatic and administrative issues.
  • Shape responsibilities based on supervisory guidance, established objectives, policy directives, legislative mandates, modifications in statutes or court rules, and the goals and consensus of relevant training boards or commissions.
  • Conduct training needs assessments and gather feedback from various criminal justice agencies and associations.
  • Coordinate and evaluate outcomes of work in collaboration with the Office Director or other Bureau Directors and Managers.
  • One year as a Criminal Justice System Specialist Manager 1; or
  • Five years of professional experience in criminal or juvenile justice, law enforcement, or victim services, which included two years in a supervisory capacity, and a bachelor's degree in the social or behavioral sciences, criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field; or
  • Four years of professional experience in criminal or juvenile justice, law enforcement, or victim services, which included two years in a supervisory capacity, and a master's degree in the social or behavioral sciences, criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must pass a background investigation.
