About The Position

The mission of a Criminal Justice Information Technician at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to ensure the accurate and timely collection, processing, and dissemination of criminal justice information. This role involves maintaining and updating offender records, managing data entry and retrieval systems, and supporting the overall information needs of the department. By providing reliable and precise information, Criminal Justice Information Technicians play a crucial role in supporting the operations, decision-making, and public safety objectives of the FDC.   This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the Cash Flow: Be the trusted guardian of payments from probationers, parolees, and community controlees, ensuring every transaction is recorded with precision and accuracy!
  • Daily Detective Work: Dive into payment logs, correct errors, and reconcile daily transactions, making sure everything is spot-on before handing it over for supervisor approval.
  • Data Dynamo: Compile and coordinate essential reports and summaries, keeping the information flowing seamlessly between management and staff.
  • Document Mastery: Review, verify, and perfect documents for court and criminal justice agencies, all while maintaining top-notch confidentiality.
  • Office Hero: Juggle various tasks from assisting with travel vouchers to managing supplies and even stepping in as the friendly office receptionist when needed!
