Requirements

  • EDUCATION : Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, psychology, social work, counseling, a social science or other closely related field.
  • SUBSTITUTION FOR EDUCATION : Work experience in the areas of counseling, social work, law enforcement, corrections or community supervision which provided the same kind, amount, and level of knowledge acquired in the required education, will substitute on a year-for-year basis for the bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in general population case management.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying Motivational Interviewing skills and techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a variety of constituents.
  • Ability to complete assessments and develop case plans.
  • Ability to enter data, generate reports and create communications from variety of software programs and databases.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
  • Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Company staff, stakeholders, and with diverse client base.
  • Must pass background check and be granted access to state criminal databases.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality of client and company information.
  • Carry out all duties/responsibilities in accordance with Company values, policies and procedures, applicable laws and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and timely case file, both paper and electronic, for each client on caseload.
  • Perform assessments/reassessments as required.
  • Develop individualized supervision case plan for each client based upon established protocols and client needs.
  • Detail and explain verbally to the client, the client’s program expectations and case plan to ensure that the client understands his/her requirements and responsibilities.
  • Report all program violations according to established Intervention policies.
  • Administer rewards and sanctions according to established policies and procedures.
  • To ensure community safety, Case Manager will approve and track client’s access to community and update as needed.
  • Assist each client in developing and adhering to personal budget plan, monitor balance and provide financial statement to clients
  • Review client financial obligations and status at least monthly to ensure restitution and child support payments are paid according to court requirements.
  • Schedule and meet individually with each client at least weekly to evaluate progress in accomplishing case plan and sentencing requirements including all evidence-based practices.
  • In addition, be accessible to clients during work hours for supervision, guidance, and resources outside of scheduled meeting times
  • If needed, refer client to treatment providers, and inform them of their responsibilities for payment, and participation in treatment.
  • Monitor client’s participation and progress in treatment, including verification of attendance at each meeting
  • Support and assist clients in searching, obtaining, and maintaining employment.
  • Complete all written reports concerning clients in an accurate, legible and timely manner.
  • Prior to sending any reports to the courts or referral agency approval must be given by a supervisor.
  • Enter client data, into electronic databases, including CCIB, accurately, timely and completely.
  • Refers clients to community resources as appropriate and maintains communication throughout service.
  • Work with courts, probation and other criminal justice agencies regarding client staffing/compliance
  • Observe drug and alcohol tests as required, according to established policies and procedure.
  • Drive personal car to court, jail and/or other sites as required, including in adverse weather.
  • Testify in court regarding clients.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings; apply skills and knowledge.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Non-Residential Case Managers: Conduct home visits to verify clients’ residence.
  • Drive company van while accompanied by another staff member.
  • Transports clients to or from jail, or as directed by Manager
