About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in law enforcement/criminal intelligence.
  • Basic level of criminal analyst certification from IALEIA or similar certification.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in criminal analysis/intelligence.
  • Must possess and maintain IDACS and NCIC certifications.
  • Advanced knowledge of law enforcement information systems and databases.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with community policing strategies.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal law enforcement protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Researches, analyzes, evaluates and correlates criminal intelligence information to determine source reliability and develop investigative leads.
  • Locates addresses, phone numbers, and maps for investigators.
  • Assists in gathering documents and compiling information for investigations.
  • Enters field contact reports and intelligence data into the Intelligence database.
  • Ensures compliance with Federal and State guidelines governing intelligence information.
  • Reviews criminal reports to identify crime patterns for resource allocation.
  • Monitors media sources and law enforcement bulletins to identify incidents and generate reports.
  • Collects and compiles criminal intelligence information and statistics for investigations.
  • Generates reports, charts, spreadsheets, and other documents for the department.
  • Participates in the development of unit goals and performance measures.
  • Reviews intelligence documents to disseminate information.
  • Remains current on job-specific procedures through training and meetings.
  • Attends annual training courses required for Criminal Intelligence.
