About The Position

The Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center (MOCIC) is seeking a qualified candidate for an immediate opening as a full-time Criminal Intelligence Analyst I. MOCIC is a collaborative organization of member law enforcement and criminal justice agencies across the Midwestern United States, working together to combat multi-jurisdictional criminal activity. As one of the RISS Centers, MOCIC supports local, state, federal, and tribal agencies by delivering innovative solutions and services that enhance information sharing, support criminal investigations, and promote officer safety. We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual who can work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a four-year degree in Criminal Justice or a related field, or an associate’s degree, or at least 60 hours of college credit toward a degree in Criminal Justice or a related field, together with two years of related criminal justice experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the desired level of knowledge, ability, and skill may be considered.
  • Candidates are subject to an extensive background investigation and drug testing.

  • Law enforcement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides basic analytical support and criminal intelligence-related services to member agencies.
  • Analyzes data to identify patterns, trends, and correlations in criminal activity.
  • Produces analytical products including mapping, charting, and diagrams to assist member agency investigations.
  • Uses a variety of complex computer programs and software for product production and case management, as well as a variety of production-related office equipment.
  • Prepares related written material for use in MOCIC/RISS publications and presentations.
  • Maintains current knowledge pertaining to criminal analysis, law enforcement, and criminal justice field.
  • Routinely handles confidential information.
  • Advises and assists member agencies in the use of MOCIC services and resources.
  • May assist in the development or presentation of related training programs.
  • May testify in court as to results of analysis.
  • May be assigned to complete special projects, studies, or duties as needed.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Must obtain any security clearances deemed necessary by the executive director.
  • Performs other work as assigned in support of the goals of the analytical unit and MOCIC.
