The Crime Prevention Specialist provides internal and external direction and advice on protection of organizational assets and human resources by consulting to internal partners on operational needs. Primary liaison with law enforcement. Manages relationships with senior business leaders and acts as ambassadors who build awareness of GSI's Physical Security programs and engages with partners to leverage these services. Depth & Scope: Expert level professional role requiring in-depth knowledge / expertise in own domain / field of specialty and working knowledge of broader related areas Integrates the broader organizational context into advice and solutions within own area Understands the industry, competition and the factors that differentiate the organization Applies best practices to implement process, product or service improvements Manages multiple programs/ projects/initiatives of moderate scope and complexity Acts as a subject matter expert within their own area of specialty or a resource for others Leads projects of moderately to complex risk and resource requirements; may lead end-to-end processes or functional programs Contributes to setting standards within area of expertise Solves complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, including consultation with multiple stakeholders Uses advanced methods to contribute to new solutions and recommend standards against which others will operate Impacts a range of functional programs and operations across own and related teams Interprets guidelines, standards, policies and results of analysis to inform decision making at senior levels Builds stakeholder alignment in leading projects and activities; may provide process and subject matter advice at senior levels Works independently as the senior technical lead and guides others within area of expertise Identifies and leads problem resolution for complex issues at all levels

  • Executes on physical security plans, programs, procedures
  • Provides support with analysis, reporting, and recommendations for improvement, input to help develop metrics and reporting, and data for use in threat and risk assessments and physical security surveys
  • Enhances and establishes awareness and commitment to TD's physical security program
  • Creates and submits detailed reports and logs to supervisors (i.e., updates to databases)
  • Identifies various types of fraud and escalation procedures
  • Provides input for office layout, security systems and hardware designs, security guard service, vendor selection, and facility security procedures
  • Observes and reports on the performance of all contractors for security services and facility security systems
  • Recommends and helps implement emergency response plans for employees and business groups considered high risk for physical security incidents
  • Provides security support to HR for employee terminations, harassments or other risky situations in the workplace
  • Manages external relationships with partners in government, security, law enforcement, emergency service officials, and other industry peers
  • Participates in the annual planning cycle which may include confirming quarterly forecast amounts (invoices and estimates) for quarterly budget lockdown
  • Manages the appropriate use of assigned resources (i.e., people, budget, processes) within area of responsibility
  • Plans and delivers efficient and cost-effective processes that support and promote the implementation of programs
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of processes/services and recommend/champion possible enhancements
  • Ensures a high level of service by setting clear service standards, measuring effectiveness, maintaining appropriate resources and streamlining processes to meet/exceed standards
  • Identifies ways to increase production efficiencies in order to maximize dollars spent on all programs
  • Prioritizes and manages own workload to meet service level requirements for service and productivity
  • Adheres to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to activities for respective business area(s)
  • Ensures respective programs/policies/practices are well managed, meets business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with business priorities
  • Consistently exercises discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where appropriate
  • Protects the interests of the organization - identifies and manages risks, and ensure the prompt and thorough resolution of escalated non-standard, high risk issues
  • Conducts internal and external research projects; support the development/ delivery of presentations / communications to management or broader audience
  • Conducts meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions, makes recommendations, assesses the effectiveness of programs/ policies/ practices
  • Monitors service, productivity and assesses efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exists

  • Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required
  • 7+ years relevant experience
  • Proficient knowledge of physical security and crime prevention methods, regulatory environment, banking industry, policies and procedures, products, services, systems and reporting
  • Knowledge of risk management environment, standards and regulations
  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends
  • Skill in mentoring/coaching others
  • Skill in identifying complex problems, reviewing related information, developing and evaluating options and implementing effective solutions
  • Skill in using computer applications including MS Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships

  • Professional designation in security management (e.g. ASIS Certified Protection Professional [CPP], CSIS Accredited Security Professional [ASP] or Certified Security Professional [CSP], preferred
  • Ability to work 5 days a week/in person at TD's NYC office
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive physical security risk assessments across company sites and facilities
  • Experience assisting in security audits, and conduct in person training
  • Familiar with risk management platforms
  • Familiarity with the ONTIC Security Intelligence platform
  • Evaluate security systems such as surveillance (CCTV), access control, intrusion detection, lighting, and perimeter protection
  • Provide security design input for new facility construction, renovations, or relocations
  • Experience in sectors such as critical infrastructure, healthcare, finance, law enforcement / government
  • Familiarity with physical security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 31000, NIST, DHS Risk Management Process)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or mapping/GIS platforms for spatial risk assessments
  • Assist in training corporate employee staff in areas of safety, active shooter training ect.
  • Escorting corporate visitors on site and reporting any security infractions to management
  • Liaison with building security staff and paid detail personnel as well as local, state and federal law enforcement
  • Assist the Physical Security Assessment Team in performing security assessments
