Job Summary: The Drill Pipe Inspection Crewman performs detailed inspections of drill pipes, tool joints, and other tubular goods to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., API, DS-1) and customer specifications. This role involves both visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods in field and yard environments. Safety, precision, and adherence to procedures are essential in this position. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the setup and operation of inspection equipment, including EMI, UT, and MPI systems. Perform visual inspection of drill pipe bodies, tool joints, and connections for damage or wear. Clean, prepare, and tag equipment for inspection and shipment. Conduct or assist with non-destructive testing (NDT) processes such as: Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Electromagnetic Inspection (EMI) Hardness and wall thickness measurements Document findings accurately and completely on inspection reports and maintain traceability records. Adhere strictly to safety procedures and protocols during all operations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment. Communicate effectively with the inspection team and supervisors regarding findings, job progress, and safety concerns. Support mobilization and demobilization activities at job sites.
