Crew Supervisor

Easterseals RedwoodCincinnati, OH

About The Position

Building Value is a social enterprise powered by Easterseals Redwood whose mission is to accelerate careers in construction for people facing economic and employment challenges. Through our training program, we deconstruct, demolish, and clean out homes and offices to salvage building materials, appliances, and architectural gems for sale to the public. The Crew Supervisor is integral to both the paid construction adjacent work we do as a company and our mission of training young people in the construction trades. As a Crew Supervisor, you will be the direct job-site supervisor of a rotating team of 3-5 training participants and work alongside the crew in a range of construction adjacent services: demolition and deconstruction/salvage projects, commercial cleanouts, apartment turns, painting, and occasional hardscape projects. Framing, finish carpentry, drywall finish, and painting skills are a must for this position. The Crew Supervisor works closely with the Deconstruction Manager and three other Crew Supervisors to plan work activities, safety plans, and crew assignments. On a day-to-day basis, the Crew Supervisor will instruct, train, and coach crew participants in the work for the day, provide feedback to crew members on attitude, performance, work ethic, and work quality, and coordinate pick-up of materials from deconstruction sites to be transported to the retail location. The Crew Supervisor ensures the safety of all associates while maximizing efficiency on the job site and holds the crew accountable for work ethic, quality, and proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and tools.
