About The Position

Holland America Line has been exploring the world since 1873. We’re looking for an experienced Crew Planning Analyst to fill this role. The Crew Planning Analyst will be responsible for forecasting annual rotations, crew costs, and monitoring planning and onboarding performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Additionally, the analyst will configure and maintain the automated scheduling program to ensure optimal crew utilization and efficiency. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or proven experience in business, finance, computer science, or statistics.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and forecasting techniques.
  • Experience with automated scheduling software and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Data manipulation and querying: Proficient in SQL to retrieve and manage data from databases.
  • Programming languages: Knowledge of languages like Python or R for data analysis, automation, and handling large datasets.
  • Spreadsheet software: Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, calculations, and creating reports.
  • Data visualization: Ability to create charts, dashboards, and reports using tools like Tableau.
  • Statistical analysis: Understanding of statistical concepts for analyzing data and generating insights.
  • Machine learning basics: Familiarity with machine learning concepts like predictive modeling can provide an edge.
  • Critical thinking: The ability to analyze information objectively and solve complex problems.
  • Communication: Explaining complex data in a clear, concise, and compelling way to different audiences.
  • Problem-solving: A methodical approach to identify issues and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Attention to detail: Ensuring accuracy and precision in all analyses and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Forecasting and Analysis: Develop and maintain accurate forecasts for annual crew rotations and associated costs. Analyse historical data and trends to predict future needs and budget requirements.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyse planning and onboarding performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to enhance crew planning efficiency.
  • Automated Scheduling Configuration: Configure and maintain the automated scheduling program to ensure it meets the needs of the organization. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise with the scheduling software.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including operations, finance, and human resources, to gather necessary data and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on crew planning performance, forecasts, and cost analysis to senior management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
