About The Position
Join our team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our city's streets and green spaces! We are seeking motivated individuals for the position of Crew Member ll - Street Maintenance Tree Crew Member.
Requirements
- Ability to perform a full range of duties with general supervision
- Follow written and verbal instructions effectively
- Communicate well with co-workers, supervisory staff, and customers
- Valid Class B Virginia Commercial Driver’s License
- Pass required criminal background and driving record checks
Responsibilities
- Perform general semi-skilled labor tasks with physical strength and stamina
- Operate a variety of trucks and heavy equipment for street maintenance
- Work as part of the Tree Crew, Asphalt Crew, and Concrete Crew
- Utilize chainsaws and chippers for tree maintenance
- Drive street maintenance vehicles, including dump trucks, for snow removal
- Sand icy or oily streets, and shovel snow
- Conduct routine ground maintenance tasks
- Complete work order and daily report paperwork
- Work overtime during emergencies, weather events, and snow removal operations
