About The Position

Teknor Apex is seeking a high-quality individual to join their manufacturing team as a Crew Leader on the 3rd Shift. This role is responsible for ensuring daily production requirements are met, planning for future production, and enforcing quality standards. The Crew Leader will oversee the safe operation of all equipment, troubleshoot issues, and work collaboratively with operators to maintain a smooth and productive process flow. Key duties also include computer entry of shift performance, adherence to company policies, and preparing equipment and raw materials for future runs. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be certified in forklift operations
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be accurate, conscientious, and able to perform multiple tasks
  • Must show a demonstrated ability to lead a team
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying 55 pounds
  • Physically capable of wearing a respirator
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and physicians physical examination

Nice To Haves

  • Two to three years experience in operation of product equipment and knowledge of plastics and plastics processes preferred
  • Familiarity with plastic extrusion equipment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily production requirements are met
  • Plan and prepare for future production requirements
  • Enforces quality standards as set forth by customers and Teknor Color Company
  • Obtain batch cards for products
  • Oversee the safe operation of all equipment at all times
  • Troubleshoot and operate equipment as required
  • Work with all operators to maintain a smooth and productive process flow including but not limited to helping on changeover and line operation
  • Computer entry of shift performance on daily production report
  • Understand/follow/enforce all company rules and policies at all times
  • Work overtime and different shifts if necessary
  • Supervise a safe shift, working in a safe manner
  • Prepare equipment/raw materials/people for future runs before immediate need
  • Follow applicable procedures, work instructions, and test methods to perform and maintain records on in-process production testing and Q.C. inspection of finished product
