About The Position

The position involves leading work crews in various public works projects, including road construction, maintenance, and snow removal. The role requires enforcing safety procedures, monitoring crew productivity, and ensuring the completion of projects. The individual will also be responsible for inspecting work sites, compiling reports, and operating heavy vehicles and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of experience in road construction, road maintenance, drainage maintenance, or property maintenance.
• Must submit to and pass pre-employment and random alcohol and drug tests.
• Must be on 24-hour call and work a varied schedule.
• Valid driver's license and personal transportation required.

• Ability to shoot grade with level instrument and figure grade for positive drainage.

Responsibilities

• Leads and assigns work tasks to crew members involved in public works projects.
• Enforces safety procedures to ensure safe operation of equipment and employee safety.
• Inspects work sites to monitor progress and completion of projects and work assignments.
• Plans, schedules, and adjusts projects and work procedures to meet deadlines.
• Attends meetings and provides information regarding public works operations and projects.
• Consults with supervisors to discuss problems and work assignment progress.
• Provides technical assistance and instruction on the operation of construction equipment.
• Communicates with crew personnel and supervisors via radio.
• Notifies supervisors of any encountered problems such as property damage or injuries.
