Resource Central’s Lawn Replacement program partners with dozens of Colorado municipalities and water providers to empower communities to live more sustainably through waterwise landscaping options. The Crew Lead for the Lawn Replacement Program plays an essential role in supporting water conservation efforts by leading small teams to complete lawn removal projects, learning how to safely drive a pickup truck and trailer, and operating program equipment. This role is ideal for individuals looking to make meaningful water-saving contributions while working in a positive, team-centered outdoor environment while advancing our vision of a waterwise, resilient Colorado. This is a full-time, field-based leadership position with daily travel throughout the Front Range. Crew Leads can generally expect an average of 32–40 hours per week, and part-time opportunities may be available depending on program needs. Compensation ranges from $22.50-$24.50/hour, with opportunities to earn bonuses based on exceptional performance as well as applicable mileage reimbursement, cell phone stipend, paid training, and accrued paid sick leave. The position starts May 4, 2026 and is expected to last through September, 2026; with earlier end dates available. Requirements

  • Experience driving a truck and trailer strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to qualify for driving responsibilities; a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, daily access to a reliable automobile, and a smartphone is required.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and ability to maintain a positive, solution-oriented attitude while working both independently and collaboratively in a team is required.
  • Strong attention to detail when completing fieldwork tasks and reviewing written program information is required.
  • Ability to safely perform field work that may include lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds, pushing wheelbarrows, and performing tasks that involve squatting, kneeling, or bending.
  • Ability to safely work outdoors in all kinds of weather including high temperatures and rain required.
  • Basic familiarity with smartphone and applications including Google Calendar, Square, Slack, used for communication, scheduling, and program activities.
  • Must pass and maintain an acceptable background check and driving record evaluation if offered a position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fieldwork, landscaping, or construction is strongly preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Help people save water: Lead and motivate small teams to help implement the largest lawn replacement program in Colorado.
  • Conduct fieldwork daily involving the safe operation of lawn removal equipment, driving, and maneuvering of a pickup truck with a trailer. Training provided.
  • Safely operate sod removal equipment and hand tools such as sod cutters, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, and picks, and lift and move sections of sod into trailers for disposal at partnered facilities. Training provided.
  • Travel throughout the Front Range with a crew in company vehicles. Optional opportunities available to travel to other cities for projects that require extended travel or overnight stays; with mileage, travel pay, and accommodations provided.
  • Enforce and adhere to all safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment for all crew members.
  • Actively communicate with program participants to confirm project scope and price, effectively answer questions, and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented mind-set.
  • Assist with other Resource Central programs as assigned based on available opportunities or department demand.
  • Clearly communicate any and all individual and crew-related questions, safety concerns, or updates with supervisors as needed.
