Job Summary: The Crew Lead - DAS will act as the on-site coordinator and crew supervisor for a variety of field service functions. The Crew Lead will participate in and supervise installation of antennas, repeaters, head-end equipment, and other DAS devices as well as complete sweep, PIM and fiber testing. The Crew Lead's task will be to ensure job completion according to company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining the efficiency of the staff assigned to the project. Job Duties and Responsibilities: 1. The Crew Lead - DAS will consistently run major project crews; assume responsibility for effective performance and provide necessary training; assume responsibility for adherence to Company and customer safety and quality guidelines and hold weekly safety meetings; initiate performance-related communications and escalate to Project Manager if necessary. 2. The Crew Lead - DAS coordinates with Project Manager/Project Lead to ensure productivity, job completion and compliance with project budget. 3. The Crew Lead - DAS fully completes all IES Communications, LLC. and project paperwork accurately and on time (specifically timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required). 4. The Crew Lead - DAS will commission and optimize a variety of DAS and signal booster equipment for public safety installations utilizing manufacturer's procedures and field equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters. 5. Conduct Pre & Post install RF signal readings per fire code requirements utilizing spectrum analyzer and/or two-way radios. 6. Perform cable sweep testing (VSWR, RL, DTF, PIM) utilizing test equipment. 7. The Crew Lead - DAS serves as main on-site customer contact for questions and/or concerns; attend facility and construction meetings when required. 8. The Crew Lead - DAS performs work consistently demonstrating a detailed level of technical knowledge; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise. 9. The Crew Lead - DAS will complete other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Must be able to act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s)
  • Must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s)
  • Must be able to work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk large jobsites regularly
  • Must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones
  • Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed
  • Regular attendance is mandatory
  • Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency
  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in telecommunications or related technical field
  • Experience with common DAS Equipment including Fiber DAS, Repeaters, Coaxial Cable, CAT 5 Cable, Antennas, Splitters, Fiber Cable, etc.
  • Must have a FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (G.R.O.L.) or be able to obtain one within two weeks of hire
  • 3 years of experience in telecommunications field with strong emphasis in DAS. 5 years' experience in the processes and requirements of integrating public safety and cell carrier and technologies into an in-building coverage system
  • Must possess a minimum of twelve (12) months' supervisory and/or managerial experience
  • Proficient and experienced with the commissioning process of multiple manufacturers such as ADRF Technologies and Comba Telecom, CommScope, SOLiD Tech, and Corning
  • Proficient in the use of spectrum analyzers including Keysight/Agilent, Anritsu models, and/or PCTel
  • Experience with PIM testing required
  • Working knowledge of RF test equipment such as an Anritsu tester or similar spectrum analyzer
  • Must possess and be able to effectively use the tools listed above
  • Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements
  • Must know the universal communications color codes
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project)
  • Must meet Company minimum driving standards
