Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of land surveying experience, including field leadership responsibilities.
  • Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) certification or ability and initiative to obtain the certification is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with surveying equipment (GPS, total stations, levels).
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D; familiarity with Carlson software is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of survey calculations, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to interpret survey data, maps, and legal descriptions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to travel to project sites throughout the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas.
  • Ability to balance field and occasional office responsibilities.
  • This position is open to candidates currently residing in the United States with legal authorization to work.

Nice To Haves

  • Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) certification or ability and initiative to obtain the certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys.
  • Operate and oversee surveying equipment including GPS units, total stations, levels, and data collectors.
  • Direct daily field operations and ensure accuracy and efficiency of survey work.
  • Collect, process, and verify field data for project deliverables.
  • Perform survey calculations including coordinate geometry, traversing, and leveling.
  • Prepare and review field notes, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist in preparing survey maps, plats, and drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D).
  • Research deeds, land records, and supporting documentation as needed.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and team members to meet project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with Pennsylvania surveying regulations and company standards.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure proper care and calibration.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices and participate in safety meetings.
  • Mentor and guide junior field staff and support their development.
