About The Position

Performs limited supervisory and semi-skilled manual work involving the: construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, roadways, drainage, and utility lines and systems; cleaning of buildings and other public facilities; and landscaping and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and rights-of-way. Employees assigned to this classification perform a variety of tasks involving above-average physical effort and operation of power tools and equipment requiring some manipulative skills. Work is assigned and carried out according to oral and written instructions, usually from a crew leader or a field supervisor, and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation, meetings, and review of work orders to ensure quality and timeliness.

Requirements

• STREETS/STORMWATER: High school diploma/GED
• Two (2) years of experience in the construction, maintenance, or repair of the following: streets, sidewalks, roadways, drainage or utility lines and systems or right of ways or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Computer operation and software skills required to retrieve and closeout work requests.
• Required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Valid Florida CDL Class B or higher required.
