About The Position

The Credit Specialist will play a crucial role in obtaining and analyzing credit information from various sources to support credit decision-making for both new and existing customers. This position involves investigating applicant credit history, compiling and summarizing data, and assisting in credit review processes. The Credit Specialist will also be responsible for setting up new customer accounts, maintaining accurate records, and supporting collection efforts.

Requirements

  • Experience in accounts receivable, credit, and collections.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and Lookups.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance from an accredited university preferred.
  • If no Bachelor's Degree, 2-4+ years of AR Analyst or Credit Analysis experience required.
  • SAP experience strongly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain credit information from credit bureaus, financial institutions, and other credit services for new and existing customers.
  • Investigate applicant credit history by contacting credit departments of businesses and service providers.
  • Compile and summarize credit data, preparing clear reports for use in credit decision-making.
  • Assist in credit review processes for both new account openings and existing customer updates to ensure acceptable risk levels.
  • Gather required documentation for new credit applications.
  • Set up new customer accounts in the appropriate systems and establish corresponding credit files.
  • Coordinate with the sales team regarding account status and required information.
  • Maintain accurate, current, and compliant credit records and files.
  • Assist with collections efforts to support timely payments.
  • Handle audit confirmations and verifications, including internal, external, and customer inquiries regarding account balances.
  • Ensure timely, accurate processing and reporting of all credit-related information.
  • Follow proper work methods and company policies to maintain operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors and other departments to support smooth credit operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Credit Manager or Credit Supervisor.
