JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for working alongside experienced credit officers, credit analysts and relationship managers, to contribute to real-world financial analysis and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Analytical skills with an understanding of financial statements and tax returns.
  • Ability to learn and understand commercial and commercial real estate lending and banking regulations.
  • Ability to deal effectively with individuals at all levels of the bank organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time management skills and an ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • General skills and working knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet searches.
  • Ability to complete the required training by assigned due date.
  • Ability to maintain predictable and reliable attendance.
  • Minimum of a Junior or Senior standing preferred currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher required.

  • Interest in pursuing a career within commercial banking or credit risk preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in spreading and analyzing financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow analysis.
  • Works with Director of Credit Administration and Relationship Managers to understand client needs and credit structures.
  • Works with Relationship Managers and their Relationship Coordinators to collect and review periodic reporting requirements such as financial statements, borrowing base reports, and covenant calculations.
  • Supports the preparation of credit memos for new and existing loan relationships.
  • Assists in maintaining accurate and organized credit files and documentation.
  • Helps monitor existing loan portfolios for covenant compliance.
  • Assists in portfolio management and risk rating updates.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.
