About The Position
The Credit Risk Analyst internship at USAA is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in the field of risk management within a banking environment. This internship focuses on developing skills that are essential for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across USAA Bank. Interns will engage in sophisticated quantitative techniques to model and manage risks, providing critical insights that inform strategic decisions. The program is structured to allow interns to showcase their skills while gaining real-life experience that will be invaluable in their future careers. Interns will work under direct supervision and mentorship, performing routine work assignments and problem resolution to support team members. They will execute analytical processes to assess risks and opportunities within the Bank's consumer portfolios, supporting the delivery of bank risk strategy by providing analytical insights to peers and management. Interns will also conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses, research credit and risk proposals, and maintain effective risk management frameworks. This internship is not only a learning opportunity but also a potential pathway to a two-year risk development rotational program following graduation, depending on business needs. The internship is based at USAA Corporate Headquarters in San Antonio, TX, with the possibility of working from satellite locations in Plano, TX, and Charlotte, NC, for those offered full-time roles after the internship. The program is structured to last from May 28, 2025, to August 8, 2025, aligning with the academic calendar of most interns who typically participate during the summer between their junior and senior years.
