At Regions, the Credit Products Commercial Portfolio Analyst provides analytical support to Credit Products Commercial Portfolio Managers. The successful candidate will gather information and perform in-depth research in order to identify, quantify and mitigate underwriting risk inherent in extending the bank's capital. The candidate will be expected to develop strong working relationships with client management, internal teammates, credit officers, and other bankers. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that the bank's credit products are managed effectively and that risks are appropriately assessed and mitigated. The analyst will prepare credit approval packages on new and renewed credit products, which includes determining the appropriate risk rating and identifying risk factors that could change the risk rating. This involves analyzing financial performance, performance versus projections, covenant compliance, relationship profitability (RAROC), and any other significant risk drivers. Additionally, the analyst will provide analysis of guarantors as needed to support credit underwriting and assist the Credit Products Commercial Portfolio Managers with the review of loan documents prior to closing. The role also includes reviewing closing due diligence in collaboration with and oversight by the Credit Products Manager, maintaining credit files including post-closing items, and actively managing financial reporting requirements, covenant requirements, past dues, and documentation exceptions. The analyst will monitor portfolio and servicing activities in conjunction with Shared Services support, validate the appropriate risk rating for a company, and proactively identify risk rating changes. Furthermore, the analyst will identify opportunities for exposure reduction or new opportunities within the assigned portfolio and develop a strong working knowledge of and ensure compliance with internal bank commercial loan policy and credit risk.
