About The Position

The Credit Monitoring & Control Specialist plays a crucial role in the Bank's Credit Risk Management and Risk Analytics Departments. This position is responsible for analyzing, identifying, mitigating, and controlling data integrity risks across various data elements. The specialist will review credit approval documents, ensure compliance with the Bank's credit policy, and support risk reporting processes, contributing to the overall transparency and efficiency of the Bank's credit risk management efforts.

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable in the credit approval process and credit structure, with the ability to comprehend the Bank's credit policy.
  • Familiarity with Federal Call Codes and related loan codes, understanding their impact on financial reporting.
  • Experience in leading risk and control assessments, root cause analysis, and scenario analysis.
  • Ability to partner effectively with peers, senior management, and business partners.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Investigative nature combined with sound business and technical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deliverables.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, including analytical skills and spreadsheet experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present to senior management.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Bachelor's degree with 7-10 years of experience in credit risk, compliance, or audit/SOX in a banking/financial services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Bank's Credit Risk Management/Risk Analytics Departments in analyzing and controlling data integrity risk.
  • Review traditional and complex credit approval documents to ensure compliance with the Bank's credit policy.
  • Promote portfolio transparency through ongoing support.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient Quarter End risk reporting processes, including determining proper codes for transactions.
  • Conduct quarterly/monthly reviews of key Credit Risk data elements.
  • Provide support to other functions within the Credit Risk Management/Risk Analytics Department.
  • Solve straightforward problems and analyze possible solutions using standard procedures.
  • Participate or lead projects associated with the department.
