About The Position

Analyze and interpret economic data, do research and give advice on economic issues which impact on the business. Conduct research studies of existing and potential investments in selected areas and develop recommendations. Depending on the research approach, analysis may focus on an individual security, sector, or country. Identify and investigate pertinent factors influencing investment decisions. Quantify and interpret potential risks and rewards. Recommend acquiring, holding, or disposing of investments. Monitor designated investments to identify trends and conditions. Assist in the development of policy guidelines. Monitor the market for anomaly switches to take advantage of these.

Requirements

• Collect, organize, analyze, and interpret research data from diverse sources to extract meaningful insights, identify trends and relationships, draw conclusions, and support research hypotheses.
• Assimilate and understand data and information from various sources in order to draw appropriate conclusions and make relevant recommendations.
• Inspect, cleanse, transform, and model data to discover useful information, inform conclusions, and support decision-making.
• Express ideas, request actions, formulate plans, & policies by means of clear and effective verbal communications.
• Bachelor’s: Economics (Required)
• Bachelor’s: Finance (Required)
• Master's
• General Experience - 6 to 10 years
• AG - Agent - Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)
• GS - Gen Sec Rep - Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)
• Securities Industry Essentials Exam (SIE) - Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)

Responsibilities

• Manage a significant portion of the organization's economic research program. This involves being responsible for development or delivery or both.
• Perform complex statistical analysis and utilize mining, modeling, and testing techniques to enable data analysis.
• Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving complex or contentious queries and issues and enabling others to take appropriate actions.
• Contribute to the design and creation of reporting strategies and templates.
• Lead execution of complex reports, identifying and interpreting complex patterns and trends, and translating those insights into actionable recommendations.
• Explore and develop a detailed understanding of external developments or emerging issues and evaluate their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.
