About The Position

The position involves assisting in the development and implementation of underwriting policies and procedures. The role requires evaluating and analyzing credit applications to determine risk and making decisions to approve or decline applications. Communication with various stakeholders, including Funding Associates, Credit Analysts, and Dealer Partners, is essential to resolve issues and gather additional information as needed. The Underwriter will collaborate with the Underwriting Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and utilize Microsoft Office and Loan Origination Systems (LOS) to manage loan applications. Maintaining accurate records of underwriting decisions and providing excellent customer service to dealers and customers regarding financing options are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, associate degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, or related field.
  • Previous experience in underwriting is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience is recommended.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Remain current on lending regulations and guidelines.
  • Familiarity with Loan Origination Systems (LOS).
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Research and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Act as a resource for dealer and staff questions regarding the KMRF's loan programs.
  • Working knowledge of financial services regulations together with all internal policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of various loan structures, payment schedules, amortizations, interest rates.
  • Prepare monthly production reports and provide information to manager.
  • Basic understanding of financial information and lending regulations.
  • Ability to work on-site at our Foothill Ranch, CA office.

  • Experience in founding, co-founding or working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Experience in Powersports Finance Industry (motorcycle, ATVs UTVs, PWCs).
  • Experience in a FinTech startup.
  • Advanced Professional degree.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all underwriting decisions and documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve departmental goals.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to dealers and customers regarding financing options.
  • All other duties as assigned.
