Becoming a Credit Analyst II means stepping into a mission-driven role at the intersection of finance and the energy market. You won’t just be working with financial data — you’ll help support the financial safeguards that protect the stability of the regional power grid that millions of people and businesses rely on every day. This position plays an important operational role in maintaining and administering financial security postings for SPP’s participants, which include utility companies and other energy industry entities. Responsibilities include processing and managing financial security instruments such as Letters of Credit, Surety Bonds, and cash collateral, while ensuring postings are updated accurately and in accordance with SPP credit policy. The role also supports key collateral management activities, including updating interest-earning collateral balances and reconciling collateral held for both market trading and generation interconnection upgrade purposes. You will work closely with teams such as Accounting and Generation Interconnection to ensure financial security updates are completed accurately and in a timely manner. In addition, this position may assist with aspects of the market participant registration process and support other operational and analytical projects as assigned. The role provides opportunities to collaborate across departments and contribute to processes that help maintain the financial integrity of the market. If you enjoy detail-oriented financial work, value accuracy and accountability, and want to be part of a team that supports the reliability of critical infrastructure, this role is for you. At SPP, your work will directly support the systems and safeguards that help ensure a stable and secure energy market.
