About The Position

The Credit Analyst I analyzes financial data of commercial borrowers to assess creditworthiness, underwrite loans, and reviews existing loans. The role supports loan structuring to maximize profit and minimize risk, with some independence. It primarily handles simpler relationships but may manage more complex cases as skills grow.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, Four (4) year college degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics.
• Able to manage multiple priorities with guidance from a supervisor.
• Strong focus on detail, problem-solving, and proactive thinking.
• Skilled in MS Word, Excel, and Windows.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Basic understanding of lending procedures, documentation, and regulations.
• Ability to work closely with management to ensure adherence to bank policies and procedures.
• Minimum one (1) year of commercial financial analysis or related experience. 1-3 years of banking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Master the credit policy, core banking system, and loan origination system.
• Create financial spreads, cash flows, and underwriting documents for loans and reviews.
• Collect customer data from public agencies, property searches, credit reports, and appraisals.
• Communicate with the team to prioritize tasks and provide updates.
• Identify potential problem loans and recommend risk ratings and loan structures.
• Assist with loan administration and portfolio tasks.
• Contribute to special Credit Department projects.
• Take and distribute minutes for committees like the Problem Asset and Officer’s Loan Committee.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.
