Credit Intermediation and Related Activities

The Credit Analyst II provides support to the Bank's commercial lending activities by independently identifying and quantifying risks related to business credit requests and existing commercial loan relationships. This role is responsible for conducting a thorough analysis of financial information to assess and monitor the overall financial strength of the Bank's current and prospective borrowers. Communicate findings through written reports and verbal recommendations to optimize credit underwriting decisions. Credit Analyst II collaborates with commercial loan officers and portfolio managers to maintain adherence to the Bank's written lending policies and to mitigate overall risk to the Bank.

  • Analyze the financial condition and repayment capacity of commercial borrowers and guarantors in relation to new loan requests and renewals.
  • Calculate and interpret key financial metrics to assess cash flow, leverage, liquidity, collateral coverage, debt serviceability, etc.
  • Translate analysis findings into well-written loan presentations within established deadlines to allow credit officers to make informed loan decisions.
  • Foster relationships and collaborate with loan officers and portfolio managers to ensure loans are structured properly to maintain adherence to the Bank's written lending policies, while also mitigating risk and maximizing profit to the Bank.
  • Perform ongoing reviews of existing commercial loan relationships to ensure continued repayment ability and early detection of potential problems.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management and board reports to assist management in assessing risks in the loan portfolio.
  • Interact with senior management regarding identified credit issues.
  • Participate in cross-training with the Appraisal Department to enhance commercial real estate knowledge. Perform real estate evaluations to aid in determining value for properties not requiring an appraisal.
  • Work with loan officers and Special Assets personnel to prepare quarterly memos summarizing the status and action plans for the Bank's watch list borrowers.
  • Other credit administration duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Bachelors Degree Business and less than 1 year Credit/Lending preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelors Degree Accounting preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelors Degree Finance preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
