The Credit Analyst Banker Development Program is designed for individuals aspiring to become Commercial Bankers (Lenders). This full-time position, based in McAllen, TX, will commence in Summer 2025. As a Credit Analyst, you will undergo comprehensive training and provide essential support to Commercial Bankers in your market. Your primary responsibilities will include underwriting various financial transactions related to working capital, equipment, real estate, and small company acquisitions. This role is pivotal in preparing you for a successful career in commercial banking, with the potential to transition into a lending role within two to three years upon successful completion of the program. In this position, you will analyze financial statements, including performance ratios, to assess the borrower's historical operating performance. You will prepare detailed written analyses that encompass credit investigations of borrowers and guarantors, as well as evaluations of economic and market conditions relevant to the company and industry. Your analytical skills will be crucial in conducting in-depth historical and projected financial/cash flow analyses, which may involve direct communication with the borrower's accountant to clarify accounting practices. Additionally, you will assess secondary sources of repayment, such as collateral, and evaluate the financial position of guarantors to identify strengths and weaknesses. You will also be responsible for collecting and maintaining industry data, conducting research from various sources, and participating in weekly Loan Committee meetings where you may present loan requests. Customer meetings may also be part of your responsibilities, which could require travel. Furthermore, you will perform real estate appraisal reviews, monitor construction project inspections, and ensure compliance with Commercial Loan Agreement requirements. Active participation in training and development sessions is expected, along with the completion of assigned projects and initiatives.
