About The Position

Horizon Farm Credit is recruiting for a Credit Administrator to join our Farm Credit EXPRESS (FCE) team. The qualified candidate will work in the Mount Joy, PA branch location. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after 6 months of successful employment. In this role, you’ll be at the center of equipment financing, reviewing applications and assessing credit history from credit reports, and using critical thinking skills to make recommendations that are within program guidelines. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
  • Generally, five or more years of commercial and/or agricultural credit underwriting experience preferred.
  • Must possess sound credit judgement and differential credit skills to make timely and accurate credit decisions
  • Strong interpersonal relations and communication skills.
  • Ability to be self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Possess strong problem solving, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter, organized, detail oriented, dynamic, innovative, and quality/solution focused.
  • Handles duties within the required time expectations, delivering excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Willingness to be collaborative and ability to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Strong knowledge and desire to continually study Horizon, AgFirst and FCA credit practices, policies and procedures, GAAP, and other general financial terms and trends in the overall lending industry; particular to Agri-Business and Commercial lending.
  • Adaptable and flexible to a changing work environment.
  • Ability to travel to/from other branch offices, customer meetings, etc., as deemed necessary.
  • Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of agriculture preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate credit scoring requirements and completing a credit approval summary.
  • Complete additional financial analysis on larger transactions and more complex accounts. This would include: Analyzing financial information – accurately complete historical trends, proforma, projections, debt repayment schedules, consolidations, Probability of Default templates, source and use, and any other necessary worksheets to adequately support the overall credit decision or recommendation.
  • Preparing a loan narrative that provides an adequate summary of the financial analysis, addressing the applicable five C’s of credit, highlighting credit strengths and weaknesses that support the credit decision or recommendation.
  • Become familiar with internal and external credit practices, commodities, products and compliance standards for the entire AgFirst District, to ensure sound and eligible credit decisions are made.
  • Actively collaborate with peer credit administrators to ensure effective processes are in place for positive loan processing and closing results.
  • Meet the target turn-around underwriting decision timelines, and appropriate follow up’s with ACA’s.
  • Ensure loans meet the parameters of the approved programs.
  • Train and mentor less tenured FCE credit staff.
  • Review program reports and complete program reporting as needed for management.
  • Assist the processing staff with credit related matters associated with applications.
  • Other projects and/or research as assigned by management.
