About The Position

The Credit Administrator at Pacific Premier Bank is responsible for reviewing and approving or declining credit requests for new and existing borrowers within a significant delegated lending authority. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the quality and growth of the bank's lending portfolio, impacting the bank's overall performance and financial condition. The position requires independent judgment on complex deals and problem loans, while also providing support and direction to credit and portfolio staff, contributing to the development of loan policies, and ensuring adherence to bank policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the banking industry required.
  • 10+ years of experience in Credit Administration and Portfolio Management required.
  • Considerable experience in a variety of loan types and complexities.
  • Ability to analyze credits and detailed knowledge of lending structure and cash flow analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and examine credit requests to assess credit worthiness, including loan quality and credit risk classification.
  • Approve or decline credit requests within assigned authority.
  • Analyze and recommend approval/declination of credit requests exceeding assigned authority.
  • Review financial spreads and associated financial statements for risk rating loans and identifying potential credit problems.
  • Recommend actions to prevent potential loss.
  • Provide mentoring and feedback to the credit and sales team to foster growth in lending.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders on credit matters and loan presentations.
  • Provide timely feedback on CAM submissions to ensure quick turnaround of credit requests.
  • Risk grade all loan approvals to ensure minimal grade changes in internal or regulatory exams.
  • Identify current and emerging problem loan situations.
  • Ensure loan portfolios adhere to bank policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training for Credit staff as needed.
  • Perform pre-qualification assessments of financing requests.
  • Attend and participate in Credit Administration meetings and senior credit management meetings.
  • Work on various special projects for senior credit management.
