About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail‑focused Credentialing Specialist to support a healthcare organization experiencing a backlog of provider credentialing and payer enrollment work. This temporary, project-based position is ideal for someone with at least one year of credentialing experience who is confident managing provider data, payer communication, and CAQH updates. This role offers hybrid flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to make an immediate operational impact. Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in credentialing, provider enrollment, or a related healthcare administrative function.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Excellent attention to detail and deadline management.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and online portals.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain credentials for new and existing providers, including licenses, DEA certificates, and managed care applications.
  • Oversee assigned state rosters and ensure all documentation is accurate and current.
  • Manage credentialing for facilities where providers round.
  • Handle all CAQH entries, updates, re-attestations, and supporting documentation.
  • Submit and track payer enrollment applications.
  • Serve as a liaison with payers to identify delays, escalate issues, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain internal credentialing databases and logs.
  • Update expirable items and ensure all data is accurately stored and tracked.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of credentialing files for audits or payer requests.
  • Coordinate with providers, payers, and internal departments.
  • Provide credentialing information for new facilities and onboarding needs.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on outstanding items and payer responses.
