About The Position

The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for processing all new applications and reappointments for medical staff membership and privileges at Children's of Alabama for physicians, resident moonlighters, allied health professionals, such as CRNP's, PhD's and PA's. Duties include the conduction of primary source verification, and communication of information pertaining to membership and privileges to applicants, medical staff leaders and committees and to the Board of Trustees. In addition the Credentialing Coordinator will be responsible for granting computer access to Residents and Medical Students. The Credentialing Coordinator supports the medical staff credentialing and performance improvement functions through maintaining appropriate databases, including the Credentialing system database. Other duties include scheduling and coordinating meetings, performing periodic audits of medical staff files to ensure completion, scanning materials in the medical staff files, providing information about Medical Staff membership and privileges to other facilities

Requirements

  • Three to five years' secretarial experience
  • Accurate typing speed of 50 WPM
  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft computer operations including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree
  • two years Credentialing experience
