About The Position

The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the credentialing and recredentialing of clinicians, facilities, and locations with commercial payers, Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payers within the Orthotics & Prosthetics (O&P) industry. This role focuses on administrative accuracy, compliance, and timely follow-up to ensure providers are properly credentialed and enrolled to deliver patient care and bill for services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 0–2 years of administrative, healthcare, or compliance-related experience
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Basic understanding of healthcare administrative processes (credentialing, billing, or compliance a plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist with initial credentialing and recredentialing of O&P facilities with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
  • Maintain accurate credentialing records, files, and databases, including licenses, certifications, insurance, and attestations
  • Support enrollment and updates in systems such as PECOS, NPPES, and payer portals
  • Track credentialing application statuses and follow up with payers to ensure timely approvals
  • Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders (clinicians, office managers, billing teams) regarding credentialing requirements and timelines
  • Ensure compliance with payer, regulatory, and accreditation standards (e.g., ABC, BOC, CMS)
  • Assist with audits and documentation requests related to credentialing and enrollment
  • Update provider demographic and practice information as changes occur
  • Identify and escalate credentialing issues that may impact billing or patient services
  • Perform general administrative tasks related to credentialing and compliance as needed.
