About The Position

The Credentialing Coordinator is a coordination, oversight, and accountability role responsible for ensuring provider credentialing and payer enrollment activities progress efficiently and accurately. Supported by MDT’s credentialing platform, this role focuses on provider responsiveness and payer follow-through, ensuring documentation, portal actions, and enrollment workflows remain on track. This position is critical to maintaining credentialing velocity during platform implementation and continued organizational growth, and reports directly to the Director of Business Development, partnering closely with internal stakeholders to minimize delays from submission through activation.

Requirements

  • Intermediate experience in healthcare credentialing coordination and payer enrollment
  • Demonstrated multi-state credentialing or enrollment experience
  • Working knowledge of payer portals and enrollment workflows
  • Strong document management, organization, and follow-through skills
  • Ability to manage multiple providers and payers simultaneously in a fast-moving environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Registered Dietitians (RDs) and understanding RD licensure and certification requirements
  • Exposure to telehealth or multi-state provider organizations
  • Experience supporting credentialing operations during a system or platform implementation

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the internal point of coordination for provider credentialing and payer enrollment workflows
  • Ensure timely provider responses to documentation requests, attestations, and portal actions
  • Monitor enrollment and credentialing progress to identify and resolve delays
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready provider files and internal tracking tools
  • Maintain working knowledge of payer and provider portals, including Availity and plan-specific systems
  • Register for and monitor portals to track enrollment status, requests for information, and revalidation notices
  • Support roster submissions, demographic updates, and payer notifications
  • Follow up on outstanding payer actions through approval and participation (PAR) activatio
  • Support new providers who do not yet have an NPI Type 1, including application guidance and status monitoring
  • Maintain oversight of NPI Type 1 and Type 2 records to ensure alignment across payer portals and internal systems
  • Coordinate credentialing activities across multiple states and payer types
  • Support diverse provider types including: Registered Dietitians (RDs) Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (CDCES) Nurse Practitioners (NPs) Physicians (MD/DO)
  • Apply working knowledge of discipline-specific licensure and certification nuances, particularly for RDs
