About The Position

Position supports and facilitates all aspects of credentials onboarding & verification process for medical staff appointments and re-appointments. Includes credentialing of allied health providers and fellows as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for initial and continuous verification of credentials of medical staff members, for hospital medical staff office, state and managed care payors.
  • Ensures ongoing state and federal licensure, compliance with JCAHO and NCQA standards, observance of applicable hospital medical staff by laws state and state/managed care payors agreements.
  • Responsible for initial and continuous credentialing and reappointing of all medical staff members.
  • Assists with initial state licensure applications and hospital applications for privileges as needed.
  • Ongoing maintenance of current and accurate data/information in system credentials database.
  • Appropriately utilizes the database to produce reports, lists, rosters, etc., assisting BJC & contracted facilities as needed.
  • Maintains the permanent credentials files on all applicable medical staff members, managed care and allied health providers as well as fellows.
  • Assures accuracy of records and maintains a state of readiness at all time for review/audit by delegated entities, licensing and accrediting agencies.
  • Assures the confidentiality and integrity of all aspects of the credentialing verification program and process.
  • Keeps credentialing manager, appeals manager, and divisional management informed of credentialing of medical staff members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
