About The Position

The Credentialed Teacher/P.E. position at the University of Fitness Information and Technology involves developing, implementing, supervising, and evaluating a physical fitness and recreation program tailored to the needs of LAUSD schools. The teacher will work under the guidance of the PYS Physical Education Director while exercising independent judgment and initiative.

Requirements

• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
• Experience working in a school or camp in a similar capacity.
• Physical Education background or experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with recreational leadership is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead the administration of the K-12 PYS physical education curriculum.
• Administer essential standards, objectives, and assessments for the PYS physical education curriculum.
• Select instructional materials, supplies, textbooks, technology, and equipment to support the curriculum implementation.
• Supervise and work effectively with departmental personnel.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate program goals and initiatives.
• Identify and articulate best practices in curriculum and instruction.
• Manage a classroom of 20+ students.
