Creative Technology & Operations Intern

GSD&MAustin, TX

About The Position

At GSD&M, we’re on a mission to build First & Only brands, meaning the first to do it and the only ones who can. We’re able to do this because we set a high bar for ourselves and our work. We care about what we put out in the world. We’re humans who like other humans. Our ideas make a difference. Shift culture. Create a smile. Inspire change. Initiate belly laughs. Deepen our understanding of the world and ourselves. We grow. We learn. We get better. We do it all over again. Because that’s what it takes to build and be First & Only. Are you a creative problem solver who’s passionate about the field of advertising but don’t see your unique interests and skillset reflected in a single, traditional role? If so, this position may be for you. This isn’t your basic coffee run internship. This is GSD&M Daze of Summer. Come spend your summer days in a daze as you experience our fast-paced creative environment for yourself. Here, you’ll actually be working alongside our talented teams. From creative and account leadership to strategy and analytics and beyond, you can expect a real, hands-on competitive experience. GSD&M is a creatively-driven, full-service advertising agency born and raised in the heart of Texas. Today we are a global agency in the music, food and “weird” capital of the world. We’ve won the Super Bowl, cleaned up at Cannes and continue to help iconic brands win every day. We live by our core values and believe an agency should be able to think like the diverse world that it’s talking with. We think it’s better to be honest than cool. We also play foosball in the agency bar and eat breakfast tacos for dinner.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate-level student in college OR recent college graduate
  • Must be available during the length of the program (6/2/26 – 8/7/26) and able to come into the GSD&M Austin offices at least 3 days a week. Option to work offsite on Mondays and Fridays.
  • Must be able to work full-time 40 hours per week.
  • Applications will close February 28, 2026.
  • Self-starter mentality with an entrepreneurial spirit; comfortable creating structure and momentum when tasks are non-prescribed.
  • Curious by nature and energized by exploration, but also agentic—able to ship without being pushed.
  • Strong communication skills; comfortable asking smart questions, gathering requirements, and presenting recommendations.
  • Attention to detail and strong organization (especially for experiment logs, tool comparisons, and documentation).
  • Superb time management skills; can juggle multiple threads without losing track of progress.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond; eagerness to jump on a project at a moment’s notice.
  • Embracement of the unknown; views ambiguity as opportunity to explore.
  • Familiarity with creative tools and production workflows will be incredibly valuable (if you don't have hands-on experience, conducting research in preparation for the internship will suffice).
  • Strong documentation and writing skills (clear, concise, user-friendly).
  • Comfort learning new tools quickly and turning experimentation into repeatable guidance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and creative technology workflows is a plus.
  • Video editing experience is a plus (Premiere Pro, After Effects), especially quick-turn versioning and basic finishing.
  • Familiarity with low-code workflow tools (Power Automate, SharePoint Lists) is a plus.
  • Basic prototyping or demo-building skills (HTML/CSS/JS, no-code tools, or rapid prototyping) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Learn how the agency works across departments, spot operational friction points, and propose improvements through process, automation, or technology.
  • Identify emerging and best-in-class creative tools across the marketplace (and our approved platform partners), separating “cool demos” from production-ready options.
  • Support creative teams who bring an idea or concept for feasibility validation: Conducting research to recommend the best enabling approach—sometimes one tool, sometimes a multi-tool workflow—focused on not just making ideas possible, but making them better.
  • Conduct operational toolkit and workflow evaluations (capabilities, limitations, quality, scalability, speed, adoption friction, and risk considerations).
  • Prototype and test workflow automations to support and improve operational initiatives
  • Build working proficiency (and often subject matter expertise) within our constantly evolving creative toolkit through hands-on experimentation.
  • Create playbooks, templates, and video demonstrations that turn workflow enhancements (that you’ll uncover) into repeatable solutions that others can follow.
  • Support internal adoption moments (Office Hours, team sessions) with demos, Q&A, and documentation updates driven by real user needs.
  • Support ad hoc requests: tool comparisons, rapid research, feasibility memos, prototype recaps, and pitch support.

Benefits

  • generous benefits
  • plenty of time off
  • opportunities for growth
